Obama to blame for racial discord, GOP congressional candidates say
Half the Republican candidates running for Arizona’s sprawling rural congressional seat blamed President Barack Obama for the racial discord roiling the nation.
Through his words and tone, Obama has divided Americans, the three candidates for the 1st Congressional District said during a debate televised on Channel 8 (KAET).
Wendy Rogers, a retired Air Force pilot, went perhaps the furthest, saying, “I think it lies at the feet of the commander in chief. As a leader, he sets the tone. His words are carefully chosen. … When he talks, he has an effect on inner cities.”
