Arizona lawmakers are advancing SB1421, legislation sponsored by Senator Wendy Rogers to restrict access to financial systems for individuals unlawfully present in the United States.
SB1421 blocks illegal aliens from accessing certain banking services and remittance systems, targeting financial channels that enable funds to be transferred outside the country while bypassing lawful oversight.
The legislation strengthens enforcement by ensuring that participation in regulated financial systems is tied to lawful presence, preventing Arizona’s financial infrastructure from being used to facilitate unlawful activity.
Senator Rogers introduced SB1421 as part of her broader effort to combat illegal immigration, protect Arizona’s financial system, and ensure state resources are not exploited.
The bill advanced through the House Rules Committee on March 30, a key step toward final passage.
