During a Thursday news conference, Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling revealed information over an extensive investigation regarding possible election law violations throughout Racine County and Wisconsin.
“[The] Election statute was in fact not just broken, but shattered by members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission,” Schmaling said.
Fox 6 Now reported:
The sheriff his office received a complaint from a relative of a nursing home resident who died in October who was suffering severe cognitive difficulties – and yet still voted via absentee ballot in the 2020 election. The person lived at the Ridgewood Care Facility.
Racine County Sgt. Michael Luell investigated the issue and found the Ridgewood Care Facility had an unusual surge in voting activity in 2020. Luell reported eight of 42 families of residents at Ridgewood Care Facility said their loved ones didn’t have the cognitive ability to vote and yet did.
The investigation only related to this one nursing home. But Sheriff Schmaling said he expects Thursday’s announcement will lead to others across the state coming forward. Schmaling is calling on Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul to launch an immediate investigation.
Following the news conference, Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers (R) issued a statement on Twitter, calling on voters to report “all election irregularities in your counties” to “your county sheriffs” to “investigate”.
“Call your county sheriffs and give him/her affidavits, data, and reports of all election irregularities in your counties. File a police report with all of the attachments. Ask them to investigate,” Senator Rogers urged.
“Any precincts with over 100% turnout should be canvassed & the results handed over to the County Sheriff. File a police report with all of the affidavits from voters. Send that package to the legislators who have signed our #AuditAll50States letter. You can do this yourselves,” she advised.
