Gun control activist David Hogg made a grasp at relevance today by criticizing Arizona GOP State Senator Wendy Rogers after she called Big Bird a “communist.”
The Sesame Street character has come under fire for a tweet encouraging kids to get the COVID-19 vaccine while also tagging a CNN reporter.
“My wing is feeling a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy. (CNN reporter) Erica Hill even said I’ve been getting vaccines since I was a little bird. I had no idea!” Big Bird announced in the tweet yesterday.
While Rogers didn’t directly reference the tweet, U.S. Sen Ted Cruz did in a quote tweet of Big Bird and shot back, “Government propaganda … for your 5 year old!”
Hogg asked Cruz in response, “Did you forget that you work for the government?” Of course, Cruz is an elected official who works for the people ultimately.
Fast forward to today and Hogg responded in a quote tweet to Rogers, “Republicans are talking about big bird. Democrats are passing infrastructure, cutting child poverty in half and more.”
Clearly, Hogg doesn’t understand the significance of what it is that Republicans are upset about and the influence that a children’s show can have.
Rogers, however, chose not to engage the failed pillow salesman and promptly blocked him instead, which set him off.
